Scope of Work The project aims empowering out-of-school adolwscents in the age group of 15-19. The focus of the interventions was to enable young people to recognize their aspirations and work towards realizing them. Systematic inputs were provided on issues related to health, including reproductive health, establishing and maintaining healthy relationships, understanding and challenging discrimation related to gender and sexuality and provention of substance misuse. Teen club members were provided support to able to identify career options and map pathwarys to achieve their personal goals. Through activities like community mobilization, social action and health fairs; adolescents were expected to be meaningfully engaged in bringing about a change in their personal space as well as in their immediate surroundings. |

Scope of Work This project is an effort to supplement the NACO and Plan International and BSACS in programmatic initiatives for identifying and training, this village level workforce of Supervisors, Link Workers and volunteers on issues of HIV/AIDS, gender, sexuality, STIs and above all on mobilizing difficult-to-reach, especially vulnerable sub populations including high risk individuals, youth and women. The project shall invoke impetus to generating volunteerism among the community for fighting HIV/AIDS and inculcating health values. Overview Girls First is a resilience based training initiative to empower adolescent girls and young women in India with knowledge, skills and support they need to improve their emotional resilience, physical health – including sexual and reproductive health (SRH) – and educational outcomes. The project includes a robust research component, in which we will test a program that integrates emotional resilience training with physical health training, in comparison with emotional resilience training alone and physical health training alone. We will use a multi-arm cluster –randomized controlled experimental design to test the integrated curriculum among 3600 girls, grades 7-8, in 80 schools in tribal and rural communities in Bihar. |
